I'm fascinated with the natural world. From the mangroves of Panama to the wilds of my own backyard in the Blue Ridge Mountains, I am lucky enough to have traveled to or live in places where that world is present in great abundance. I'm even luckier these guys let me stick my camera in their faces.

Except for where indicated otherwise, photos were shot in RAW digital format using a Canon 5D Mark II DSLR camera and were neither staged nor enhanced with digital software.

I'm certainly no writer, but this blog will be regularly updated with interesting news, camera & photography tricks, tips and techniques, cool images and recent photos of my own and others from around the web. And there'll be some tales of life in Western North Carolina, snapping the odd, funny, or just downright "don't see that every day".
